Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the ER, including triage, initial assessment, continuous monitoring, IV therapy, wound care, medication administration, and specimen collection per physician orders.
- Stabilize and treat acutely ill or injured patients; respond to rapidly changing conditions; perform CPR and participate in code responses as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, PAs/APs, and other team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record; ensure timely handoffs during shift changes.
- Support patient and family education, discharge planning, and appropriate referrals; maintain safety, infection control, and quality standards.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the submitted ER unit specialty within the last 3 months
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Acute care facility experience preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced ER environment and perform 12-hour shifts
