Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to adult patients on the PCU with cardiac needs, including monitoring telemetry and hemodynamics
- Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and respond to changes in patient conditions per protocol
- Interpret and act on cardiac rhythms; coordinate with the multidisciplinary team to implement care plans
- Document care, assessments, and treatments accurately in the Epic EMR system
- Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and support staff to ensure safe transitions of care and patient education
- Maintain unit safety, infection control practices, and compliance with clinical policies
- Float to other sister campus units as required by assignment needs and policy
Requirements
- Active RN license (Florida) or licensure eligible per state requirements
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required
- Experience: minimum 2 years of PCU experience; cardiac unit experience required
- Education: Degree accreditation or 5 years of PCU experience required
- EMR: Epic experience preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts, and to float to other units as needed
