Responsibilities
- Provide direct, continuous nursing care for adult patients in the PCU/IMCU, with common diagnoses including neuro, cardiac, trauma, COPD, DKA, sepsis, MI, CV stepdown, and post-op conditions.
- Monitor patient status, perform ongoing assessments, interpret vitals and laboratory data, recognize deterioration, and escalate to the care team as needed.
- Administer medications and therapies per physician orders; manage IV lines, infusions, and appropriate airway support; operate or assist with specialty equipment (temp pacer, chest tubes, A-lines, BiPAP).
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, and other disciplines; document care plans and patient outcomes in the EMR (EPIC); ensure safety and quality of care.
- Float to other units as needed to meet unit demands; assist with transport, discharge planning, and patient/family education as appropriate.
- Maintain infection control practices and adhere to unit-specific policies and procedures.

Requirements
- Active New York RN license with Nursys verification; current NY RN license required; multiple RN licenses verified as applicable; RTO (requested time off) must be included at submission.
- 2+ years of IMCU/PCU experience.
- Current BLS and ACLS; NIHSS certified.
- EPIC EMR experience.
- Valid driver's license with address matching demographics.
- Ability to float to other units as needed and work in an IMCU/PCU environment.
