Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated neonatal nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Monitor infant status, interpret assessments, respond to changes, and implement plans of care; administer medications and therapies as ordered.
- Collaborate with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; provide guidance and supervision as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care, plan of care, and handoffs; communicate effectively with families and the care team.
- Adhere to infection control practices, safety protocols, and patient- and family-centered care principles.
Requirements
- Active RN license to practice in California
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (RN)
- BLS certification required; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred
- NICU experience preferred; other pediatric/neonatal care experience considered
- Ability to work nights and thrive in a fast-paced NICU environment
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
