Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients in Med Surg/Telemetry, following established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Collect relevant data, analyze assessment findings, and develop a care plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes; implement and evaluate progress.
- Coordinate care with other disciplines, supervise and direct activities of various nursing staff levels, and participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide education and health information to patients and families; support learning opportunities for team members.
- Document thoroughly in the electronic health record and ensure accurate communication with the treatment team; maintain patient safety and infection control practices.
Requirements
- Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (state of practice) or ability to obtain per state requirements.
- Experience: At least two years of recent RN experience in the field; Med Surg/Telemetry experience preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required per policy.
- Education: BSN preferred; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Additional qualifications: Epic experience; ability to work in a Med Surg/Telemetry unit; night shift and weekend rotation availability.
