Registered Nurse - Med Surg in a hospital setting in Hilo, Hawaii. This 13-week travel assignment starts on 06/08/2026, with a weekly pay range of $1,862 to $1,901 per week. There are no guaranteed hours beyond scheduled shifts. You’ll work 12-hour day shifts (3x12) with orientation support and unit-specific training. The role includes floating between Medical Unit, Laulima Unit (Surgical Acute), and on rare occasions the Cardiovascular Unit.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult medical and surgical patients across assigned units
- Monitor patient status, conduct focused assessments, administer medications and treatments, and document in the EMR
- Manage and assist with procedures and devices (e.g., wound vac, chest tubes, Pyxis medication administration)
- Float to Medical Unit, Laulima Unit, and occasionally Cardiovascular Unit as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, case management, and ancillary staff to ensure patient safety and timely discharge planning
- Maintain patient-to-nurse ratios as outlined (Medical 1:6 days/evenings; 1:8 nights; Laulima 1:6; Cardiovascular 1:4) and adapt to staffing needs
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and clinical policies; participate in on-unit orientation and ongoing education

Requirements
- Hawaii RN license by start date (active license required; travelers not currently in possession must apply upon acceptance)
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred; PALS, TNCC, ENPC preferred
- 2–10 years of nursing experience, with med-surg or float experience highly valued
- Ability to float between Medical Unit, Laulima Unit, and Cardiovascular Unit as needed
- Proficiency with Meditech EMR; familiarity with wound vac and chest tube care
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills
- Must be able to arrive the Thursday prior to start for employee health; orientation will be provided for each unit
