Responsibilities
- Monitor patients on telemetry with prompt recognition and management of dysrhythmias
- Administer and monitor chemotherapy on telemetry patients, including symptom management and adverse effect assessment
- Initiate and maintain IV access, port access, and IV therapy as required
- Manage PCA administration and insulin drip titration per protocol
- Provide Tracheostomy care and chest tube management when applicable
- Support respiratory care needs (BiPAP/CPAP) and operate GE telemetry systems and Alaris infusion pumps
Requirements
- Active RN license in hand at time of submission (Ohio or valid compact state)
- BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience, with current oncology/telemetry experience within the last 12 months
- Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program (if applicable)
- Ability to float to other Med/Surg Oncology units and work on a telemetry- and chemotherapy-focused service
- Epic charting experience required
- Flu vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccine not required (medical exemptions only)
- Ohio fingerprinting must be completed per policy, with a strict deadline (Tuesday prior to start); candidates outside Ohio may need to travel for fingerprinting or use expedited options
- References: 2 professional references required; at least 1 from a manager/director or formal leader (charge RN acceptable as the second)
