Responsibilities
- Provide patient care within the scope of approved privileges under physician supervision, with emphasis on interventional radiology procedures.
- Assist with radiologic procedures and patient management; maintain patient flow and organize the clinical workload.
- Perform fluoroscopic procedures and related imaging, including studies such as upper GI, small bowel follow-through, and enemas when appropriate.
- Conduct ultrasound-guided procedures and injections; perform paracentesis and thoracentesis with imaging guidance.
- Assist with placement of abscess drains, bone marrow biopsies, and ultrasound/CT-guided biopsies; support breast biopsy and marker clip placement as needed.
- Prepare procedure rooms, manage equipment, and maintain inventory; document procedures, imaging findings, and patient outcomes; educate patients and obtain informed consent; provide pre- and post-procedure instructions.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, radiation protection standards, infection control, and patient confidentiality; collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and technologists to deliver high-quality care.

Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field; graduate of an approved course acceptable to the New York State Education Department.
- Certifications: Current ARRT certification in Radiography; additional certifications in CT, Ultrasound, or Interventional Radiology (e.g., RRA) are highly desirable; BLS required; ACLS preferred.
- Experience: Interventional radiology procedures and ultrasound- or CT-guided techniques experience is preferred; ability to perform age-appropriate assessments and work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Licensure/Regulatory: As required by NYS Education Department and ARRT certification standards; ability to work within hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.
- General: Ability to work in a hospital travel assignment setting; strong teamwork, communication, and patient-care skills; commitment to radiation safety and infection control.
