Travel Registered Nurse ER Job
Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (Travel) in a rural Vermont hospital setting. Start date: 09/14/2026 for a 16- to 26-week assignment. Weekly pay: $2,610 to $2,769 per week. No guaranteed hours. Shift: 3x12 Nights. Location: Middlebury, Vermont, United States. This travel assignment supports an ED environment with telemedicine and telestroke resources, a 25-bed critical access unit, and 24/7 respiratory support and on-call leadership.

Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population (newborn to geriatric)
- Triage and triage-to-treatment using the ESI scale; initiate and monitor IV access, infusions, and drips
- Perform EKGs, continuous monitoring, and rapid assessment of patient status; respond to emergencies and provide timely interventions
- Administer medications per protocol and manage electronic documentation in Epic; dispense medications via Pyxis
- Participate in patient transports as needed, including transport to higher level of care; coordinate with ED physicians, mid-level providers, and ancillary staff
- Utilize ED procedures such as restraint application, procedural sedation support, and telemedicine/telestroke consultations when appropriate
Requirements
- Active RN license (state-specific) in good standing; Vermont licensure or eligibility for assignment
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, NRP, NIHSS, and TNCC (TNCC or proof of class with date applied must be in packet; NIHSS required prior to start)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical ED experience; at least 2 years in the ED specialty is required
- Prior travel experience preferred; EPIC experience within the past 2 years required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced ED environment with 12-hour night shifts and a rotating schedule
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills; comfortable with rural/CAH ED operations
