Travel Registered Nurse PCU Job
Registered Nurse – PCU, in Olathe, KS, starting 07/19/2026 for a 13-week travel assignment. Weekly pay range: $1,989–$2,161. No guaranteed hours. Shift: 3x12-hour Nights. Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital. This travel temporary assignment requires active licensure and current practice in a PCU environment, with EPIC as the electronic medical record.

Responsibilities
- Provide bedside nursing care for progressive care unit patients during 12-hour night shifts, including monitoring, assessments, medication administration, and IV therapy.
- Manage respiratory support needs (e.g., BiPAP) and respond to rapid changes in patient status; assist with invasive lines where applicable.
- Care for patients with chest tubes and PICC lines; perform and document required lab draws as needed; call on own consults and participate in codes per protocol.
- Float to ICU and other inpatient units as required; collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to adjust care plans and ensure patient safety.
- Document thoroughly in EPIC; communicate clearly with physicians, families, and the care team; participate in discharge planning and patient education.
- Preferential consideration for open-heart post-operative patients on Day 2 or Day 3 with pacer wires.
Requirements
- Licensure: KS RN or Compact RN license; BLS, ACLS, and NIHF certifications.
- Experience: 2 years of recent Critical Care/ICU or Emergency Department experience; strong critical thinking skills.
- Skills: Experience with BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and drawing labs; able to work independently without a vascular access team; comfortable initiating own consults and codes.
- Mobility: Ability to float to ICU and all inpatient units (med/surg, med/tele, acute/tele, and ED) as needed.
- Other: Open-heart post-operative experience Day 2/Day 3 with pacer wires is preferred; current EPIC experience; nicotine-free facility expectations apply.
