Responsibilities
- Organizes and facilitates the patient while in the operating room
- Coordinates the overall care of the patient between surgeon, anesthesiologist, and room staff
- Functions as a first assistant during surgical incision, excision, and repair of pathology for procedures with privileges granted
- Participates in preoperative assessment and planning for selected surgical patients in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Demonstrates subject matter expertise regarding medication, treatment, and patient care standards in the perioperative period
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California
- First Assist privileges for procedures as granted by the employing facility
- Perioperative/operating room experience in a first-assist role or similar capacity
- Ability to collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR staff
- Availability to start on 07/20/2026 for an 18-week assignment; able to work 10-hour shifts (approximately 40 hours per week)
