Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Cath Lab Technologist to join our dynamic cardiovascular team at a leading medical facility. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures within the cardiac catheterization laboratory, supporting patient care through technical expertise and clinical knowledge. The successful applicant will possess strong skills in interventional radiology, cardiac catheterization, and physiology, ensuring precise imaging and procedural support while maintaining the highest standards of safety and aseptic technique.

Duties

  • Prepare the cath lab environment for scheduled procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and sterile.
  • Assist physicians during interventional radiology and cardiology procedures, including cardiac catheterization, angiography, and other diagnostic interventions.
  • Operate imaging equipment such as fluoroscopy units to acquire high-quality images for diagnostic evaluation.
  • Monitor patient vital signs continuously during procedures, adjusting support as needed to maintain stability.
  • Maintain strict aseptic technique throughout all procedures to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.
  • Record detailed procedural data, including physiological measurements, contrast usage, and procedural notes for accurate documentation.
  • Support post-procedure patient care by monitoring recovery, assessing physiological responses, and providing patient education as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including cardiologists, radiologists, emergency medicine staff, and trauma center personnel to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Adhere to safety protocols specific to Level I Trauma Centers and Level II trauma center experience standards.
  • Stay updated on advancements in interventional cardiology, sonography, anatomy knowledge, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.

Skills

  • Proven experience in interventional radiology and cardiac catheterization procedures within a cath lab setting.
  • Strong understanding of physiology principles relevant to cardiovascular interventions.
  • Proficiency in vital signs monitoring and interpretation during complex procedures.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology related to cardiology, radiology, and emergency medicine.
  • Skilled in aseptic technique to maintain sterile fields during invasive procedures.
  • Familiarity with anatomy relevant to the cardiovascular system for accurate imaging and intervention.
  • Experience with sonography techniques used in diagnostic evaluation within the cath lab environment.
  • Ability to operate fluoroscopy equipment efficiently while ensuring radiation safety protocols are followed.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with medical teams and patient interactions.
  • Adaptability gained from working in high-pressure environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or similar settings.
