Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adults on Med Surg Tele services, including ongoing assessment, formulation of care plans, and timely interventions.
- Monitor vital signs and telemetry; recognize and respond to changes in patient condition; escalate to the team as appropriate.
- Administer medications and IV therapies per physician orders; manage IV access and monitor for adverse effects.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (Epic) with accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other disciplines to coordinate care and support safe discharge planning.
- Support patient education on diagnoses, treatment plans, medication management, and self-care after discharge; ensure safety and infection control standards are maintained.
Requirements
- 2+ years of RN experience in medical-surgical or telemetry settings; prior travel experience preferred.
- Epic EMR experience required.
- ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and provide care in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to participate in float coverage within assigned units as needed for staffing requirements.
