Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse - Med Surg Telemetry in Cambridge, MA, United States. Start date: August 11, 2026. This 13-week travel assignment offers 36 guaranteed hours per week. Weekly pay range: $2,453 to $2,696. Shift: 12-hour nights (1900–0730), every other weekend with rotating holidays. This is a hospital setting under Healthforce Healthcare LLC. Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care on a Med Surg Telemetry unit for adults, including monitoring telemetry, administering medications (antibiotics, anticoagulants, blood products, Lasix, amiodarone), and infusions per physician orders
- Respond to acute changes in patient status; participate in code/rapid response as needed
- Perform bedside nursing tasks, including assessments, documentation in EPIC, IV therapy, and patient education
- Manage common diagnoses and conditions such as COPD, DM, CHF, Sepsis, pneumonia, and alcohol use disorders; coordinate care plans with the multidisciplinary team
- Ensure medication administration accuracy, charting, and reconciliation; utilize Pyxis, zebra scanners, bladder scanners, dopplers, and other unit equipment
- Float to related units as needed; maintain compliance with unit protocols and hospital orientation, with a preceptor during initial shifts
Requirements
- License: Massachusetts RN license active current or conditional; NURSYS verification pulled within the last 7 days
- Education: Registered Nurse with graduation from an approved RN program
- Experience: 1–2+ years in Med Surg or Telemetry within acute care
- Certifications: Current AHA BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Skills: Telemetry experience, EMR experience (EPIC preferred), ability to administer IV medications and blood products, and competence with common unit equipment
- Additional: Must work in a hospital setting, be able to float as needed, and have a valid driver’s license with address matching demographics
- Submission requirements: Up-to-date resume with 1–2+ years Med Surg/Telemetry, 2 recent MS/Tele Charge RN/Manager/Supervisor references, skills checklist, and MA RN license verification; RTO must be included at submission and not guaranteed after confirmation
- Other: Willing to accept first-time travelers; flu vaccine required during the season
