Oakland, CA
Contracted
Powerback - Contract - Bellaken Garden -R05A87
Mid Level
Embark on a transformative journey as a Speech Language Pathologist in Oakland, California, beginning March 23, 2026. This contract role places you at the forefront of communication and swallowing care, delivering evidence-based therapy to children and adults across diverse clinical and community settings. You’ll conduct comprehensive assessments, design individualized treatment plans, implement targeted interventions, and monitor progress with meticulous documentation and interdisciplinary collaboration. This is more than a temporary assignment—it’s a pathway to refine your clinical tools, deepen your expertise in adult and pediatric speech, language, voice, fluency, cognitive-communication disorders, and swallowing therapy, and make a lasting impact on the lives you support. While you’re thriving in California’s vibrant environment, you’ll also have opportunities to work across the U.S. in our nationwide network, expanding your professional horizons while enjoying the distinctive beauty and opportunities of the Golden State.
Oakland offers a dynamic backdrop for professional growth and personal fulfillment. Nestled in the San Francisco Bay Area, it blends rich cultural diversity, world-class dining, arts, and music with a robust healthcare ecosystem. You’ll benefit from proximity to premier medical centers, educational institutions, and community clinics that serve multi-faceted populations, providing invaluable clinical exposure and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. The city’s temperate climate supports an active lifestyle, with easy access to waterfront strolls, scenic hikes in nearby hills, and quick day trips to San Francisco, Napa Valley, and the coastline. The appeal of working in Oakland is enhanced by the opportunity to reside in a region known for innovation, inclusion, and a strong sense of community, while still enjoying the flexibility of travel assignments across the U.S. This balance lets you deepen your practice, embrace new therapeutic approaches, and bring forward best-in-class care to families and individuals you serve.
Role specifics and benefits come together to create a compelling opportunity. In this assignment, you will evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing concerns across diverse age groups, develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, and adjust interventions based on measurable outcomes. You’ll provide counseling to families and caregivers, train caregivers and school teams as appropriate, and collaborate with physicians, therapists, teachers, and other clinicians to coordinate care. The role encourages growth through exposure to a broad range of clinical presentations, with pathways to advance your expertise in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) technologies, pediatric and adult rehabilitation, dysphagia management, and clinical leadership. The package includes a competitive weekly pay range of $2,481-$2,583, with guaranteed hours of 36 per week, and a start date of March 23, 2026, for a duration measured in weeks with potential extensions. In recognition of the expertise you bring, a sign-on bonus is available and housing assistance can be provided to ease relocation needs. You’ll have the chance to extend your contract based on performance and patient needs, enabling continuity of care and ongoing professional development.
A cornerstone of this opportunity is comprehensive support and a strong commitment to your well-being. You’ll receive 24/7 support from our dedicated travel team, ensuring seamless logistics, timely issue resolution, and on-demand clinical guidance as you navigate new environments. This robust support network is designed to let you focus on delivering exceptional patient care while we handle operational details, travel arrangements, and documentation. In addition, the role includes ongoing professional development, access to continuing education stipends, and collaborative forums where you can share best practices, receive mentorship, and contribute to program improvements that elevate care standards across settings. The combination of clinical diversity, structured mentorship, and accessible resources creates an environment where you can accelerate mastery of your specialty while maintaining a healthy work–life balance.
