Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy services under the supervision of the supervising OT as part of the patient care plan.
- Conduct patient assessments, implement treatment plans, and modify activities to improve activities of daily living and functional independence.
- Document treatment provided, patient progress, and any changes to the plan of care in a timely and accurate manner.
- Collaborate with the interprofessional team, including physical therapy and nursing staff, to coordinate care and support discharge planning.
- Ensure patient and staff safety during therapy sessions and follow facility policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Current Maryland certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or eligible to practice in Maryland.
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Relevant clinical experience in occupational therapy assisting; SNF experience preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a skilled nursing facility environment and with older adult populations.
- Strong documentation, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Eligible to work in the United States and able to meet travel assignment requirements.
