Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse – Med Surg, Utica, NY. Travel - Temporary Assignment beginning 06/22/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay $2,130–$2,248 per week; Guaranteed hours 36 per week; Shift 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (block scheduling; 12x3 days). Work on a hospital Med Surg unit with adult patients, including post-surgical care. Block scheduling is not guaranteed.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for adult Med Surg patients, with a focus on post-surgical conditions such as abdominal surgery recovery, cholelithiasis, osteoarthritis, fractures, back pain, and obesity-related issues.
- Monitor patient status, perform routine assessments, administer medications, manage IV pumps, and care for NG/feeding tubes; document findings in EPIC EMR.
- Float to other units as needed to support staffing and patient needs; collaborate with physicians, case managers, and interprofessional teams.
- Education and discharge planning: provide patient and family education, coordinate with care team to facilitate safe discharge and appropriate referrals.
- Maintain safety, infection control, and accurate charting; respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalating as required.
Requirements
- Active RN license in New York; Nursys license verification with all active NY RN licenses (and documentation as required)
- Current AHA BLS certification
- 2+ years of Med Surg experience; travel experience required
- EMR experience with EPIC
- Ability to work on the Med Surg unit and float to other units as needed
- Driver’s license with address matching demographics
- RTO (time off) must be included at time of submission
- Education: graduate of an accredited nursing program; RN licensure in NY
