Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse – Med Surg in Hilo, Hawaii. Start date: 04/20/2026. This 13-week travel assignment is in a hospital setting. Weekly pay range: $1,778-$1,940. Shift: 3x12-hour Night shifts. No guaranteed hours; after orientation, scheduled 36 hours per week.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to medical and surgical patients within assigned units, following care plans and standards.
- Float to Medical Unit, Laulima Unit, and Cardiovascular Unit on rare occasions as needed.
- Administer medications, monitor patient responses, and perform related procedures (wound vac care, chest tube care) as applicable.
- Document in the Meditech EMR; manage Pyxis workflow and ensure accurate, timely charting.
- Collaborate with the health care team; participate in rounds and modify plans of care as directed.
- Orientation and arrival: Arrive the Thursday before start to complete employee health requirements; orientation is provided per unit.
Requirements
- Hawaii RN license active by start date; candidates not currently licensed in Hawaii must apply upon acceptance of offer.
- Proof of immunity required; medical and religious exemption requests will not be accepted in lieu of immunity documentation.
- BLS and ACLS required; preferred certifications include PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC.
- 2-10 years of RN experience.
- Ability to float to Medical, Laulima, and Cardiovascular units as needed.
- Proficiency with Meditech EMR and Pyxis; experience with wound vacs and chest tubes is a plus.
