Responsibilities
- Provide unit-based leadership in collaboration with the Nurse Manager/Director, physicians, and staff.
- Supervise and direct nursing and ancillary personnel; ensure safe, cost-effective, high-quality care with strong patient satisfaction and safety.
- Conduct rounds to assess patient care needs, introduce self to patients and families, and develop care plans with the health team.
- Initiate and coordinate conferences with health team members, patients, and families to revise care plans as needed.
- Monitor staff performance and resource use; ensure timely completion of care activities; participate in direct patient care as needed.
- Support quality improvement efforts; foster patient- and family-centered care with cultural sensitivity and attention to diverse needs.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (California)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing; Master’s Degree preferred
- Minimum five years of clinical nursing experience; at least two years in a supervisory/charge-nurse role
- Certifications: AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS required; AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS required; AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS required; Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) required; AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring within the last two years
- EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) experience
- Ability to work in a high-acuity short-term acute care setting; night shift availability
