Responsibilities
- Provide Physical Therapy Assistant services under supervision of a licensed physical therapist to residents in a LTAC/long-term care setting.
- Implement and monitor treatment plans, guiding therapeutic exercise, gait training, transfers, balance activities, and functional training.
- Document patient progress accurately in medical records, and communicate changes to the PT team and direct care staff.
- Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and rehabilitation colleagues to adjust plans and support discharge planning.
- Ensure patient safety, proper equipment use, and adherence to infection control and documentation standards.
Requirements
- Active Maryland Physical Therapy Assistant license
- Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program
- Prior LTAC or long-term care experience preferred
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work in a long-term care setting and participate in a travel assignment
