Responsibilities
- Provide expert RN care in inpatient and outpatient Cath Lab/EP Lab settings, assisting with diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures (PCI/ CTO, TAVR, Pericardiocentesis, Vascular Interventions; RotoPro, AngioVac, FlowTriever as applicable)
- Monitor hemodynamics and telemetry during procedures; recognize and respond to dysrhythmias and emergent events
- Prepare and assist with procedures requiring moderate sedation; ensure medication safety and patient comfort
- Post-procedure care, monitoring, and patient education; manage the pre- and post-procedure holding areas and handoff communication
- Collaborate with CVT, physicians, and support staff to uphold sterile technique and procedural protocols; document accurately
- Assist with a wide range of interventional and structural heart procedures (TAVR, MitraClip, Watchman) and device-related workflows as part of the cath lab team
Requirements
- Active NY Registered Nurse license
- Minimum 2 years Cath Lab experience
- BLS (AHA) certification
- ACLS (AHA) certification
- Moderate sedation trained
- Telemetry competency
- Experience with right and left heart hemodynamics; cardiovascular interventions, CTO, PCI; pericardiocentesis; vascular interventions; and interventional devices (RotoPro, AngioVac, FlowTriever)
- Mechanical circulatory support experience desired: ECMO, Impella, IABP, ProtekDuo, LVAD
- Structural heart exposure: TAVR, MitraClip, Watchman, CardioMEMS, PFO, ASD, VSD, valvuloplasty
- RN license must be active in New York
