Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated ICU nursing care for an assigned patient group according to established standards and the nursing process.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; monitor critical conditions; administer medications and therapies as ordered.
- Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff across multiple levels; coordinate care with physicians, case management, and other disciplines.
- Utilize critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making to prioritize patient needs.
- Ensure patient safety, infection prevention, and adherence to policies; document accurately in the medical record.
- Communicate clearly with patients and families; provide education and assist with discharge planning as appropriate.
Requirements
- Active California RN license
- ICU nursing experience preferred
- Ability to work nights in a 12-hour shift schedule (3x12)
- Strong communication and collaborative, multidisciplinary teamwork skills
- Willingness to participate in a travel assignment and adhere to the start date
