Responsibilities
- Provide total patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient needs in the ER.
- Deliver bedside care, monitor patient status, administer medications, and respond to emergent situations.
- Direct and guide patient teaching for patients and families; coordinate activities of ancillary personnel.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, quality care.
- Maintain professional nursing standards, documentation, and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Promote patient safety and quality improvement initiatives in the emergency setting.
Requirements
- Active Iowa RN license (Graduate of an accredited school of nursing)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC required (ACLS certification through the American Heart Association)
- Experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to work the listed shift in a hospital ER setting
- Immunizations and health requirements as part of onboarding per policy
Education and Certifications
- Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (as applicable)
- Current Iowa Registered Nurse license
- BLS, ACLS (AHA), PALS, TNCC credentials
