Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor physical therapy treatment plans for medically complex adult patients under supervision
- Facilitate therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, transfers, and ROM programs per established plan
- Assess patient progress, document outcomes, and communicate findings to supervising PT and the care team
- Assist with mobility and activities of daily living as appropriate, while maintaining safety and infection control
- Prepare, clean, and maintain treatment spaces and equipment; ensure documentation complies with facility guidelines
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (Associate degree or equivalent)
- Active or eligible Physical Therapy Assistant license/certification as required for practice in New Mexico
- CPR/BLS certification or equivalent as applicable
- Ability to work in a Skilled Nursing Facility/LTAC setting with medically complex adult patients
- Inpatient or LTAC experience preferred
