Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to adult med/surg patients, including oncology, step-down, and patients with complex sickle cell conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments, with chemotherapy administration preferred if certified.
- Monitor patient status, perform ongoing assessments, interpret findings, and escalate changes to the medical team promptly.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans; ensure accurate charting and documentation.
- Provide patient and family education, discharge planning, and coordination of post-acute care as indicated.
- Adhere to safety, infection control, and quality improvement practices; maintain regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Active RN license (Georgia) with Nursys license verification.
- Minimum 2 years of med/surg experience in a similar-size setting.
- Chemo certification preferred.
- Ability to work a Night 12x3 schedule in a hospital environment.
- Experience with oncology, step-down, and heavy sickle cell patient populations is preferred.
- Education: graduate of an approved nursing program with current licensure.
