Overview
Registered Nurse, Med Surg (Travel) in Hilo, Hawaii. Start date: 05/18/2026 for a 13-week assignment. Weekly pay range: $1,850–$1,932 per week. Shift: 12-hour nights (7:45 pm–7:15 am). Setting: hospital-based medical-surgical care with routine floating to other units as needed. No guaranteed hours. Hawaii RN licensure must be active by start of assignment.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for adult medical-surgical patients, including assessment, planning, and implementation of nursing care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed; monitor responses and adjust care as needed
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the MEDITECH EMR; utilize Pyxis for medication dispensing; manage wound VAC care and chest tubes as applicable
- Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and family to coordinate care; escalate clinical changes promptly
- Float to Medical Unit, Laulima Unit (surgical Acute), and, on rare occasions, Cardiovascular Unit; maintain patient safety and quality of care across units
- Adhere to infection control, patient privacy, and safety protocols; provide education to patients and families as appropriate

Requirements
- Hawaii Registered Nurse license active by the start date (or eligible to obtain by start); not holding Hawaii license at acceptance requires immediate application
- BLS required; ACLS required or strongly preferred; additional certifications such as PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC are considered beneficial
- 2–10 years of RN experience in medical-surgical or related acute care settings
- Ability to float between units (Medical Unit, Laulima Unit, Cardiovascular Unit on rare occasions)
- Availability for 12-hour night shifts; able to participate in orientation and complete onboarding requirements
- Must arrive the Thursday before start to complete employee health requirements
