Responsibilities
- Perform clinical laboratory testing across core disciplines, including hematology, chemistry, microbiology, serology, and transfusion services, in support of patient care.
- Process specimens accurately and promptly from receipt through reporting, following approved SOPs and quality control procedures.
- Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation, perform routine maintenance, and document QC and instrument logs.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards (e.g., CLIA, HIPAA) and uphold infection control practices.
- Document results clearly and communicate critical findings to the appropriate clinicians per policy; collaborate with the healthcare team to support timely patient management.
- Contribute to a multidisciplinary team, participate in proficiency testing, and assist with process improvements to enhance turnaround times and accuracy.
Requirements
- Current Hawaii license to practice as a laboratory professional.
- Must be able to work weekends and rotating shifts.
- Ability to perform in a hospital laboratory environment and handle a rotating 8-hour shift schedule.
- Demonstrated attention to accuracy, quality control, and safety in clinical testing.
- Adaptability to fast-paced clinical lab operations within a travel assignment framework.
