Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) position in Waterville, Maine. Start date: 03/23/2026 for a 13-week travel assignment in a skilled nursing facility setting. Responsibilities
- Provide PTA services under supervision or in collaboration with a licensed PT, contributing to patient care plans
- Assist with therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfers, and functional mobility activities
- Monitor patient responses, document progress, and communicate changes to the supervising PT
- Prepare and set up treatment areas and equipment; ensure safety and infection control during therapy sessions
- Support data collection, measurement of outcomes, and routine charting per facility policy
- Educate patients and caregivers on procedures, home exercise programs, and safety strategies
Requirements
- Active Physical Therapy Assistant credential and eligibility to practice in Maine (or as applicable)
- Graduation from an accredited PTA program
- Prior clinical experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting preferred
- Ability to commit to 13 weeks and travel assignment requirements; 35 hours per week guaranteed
- Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills
- Ability to work a daytime shift in a skilled nursing setting and adhere to facility policies
