Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for a medical-surgical patient population using the nursing process and evidence-based practices
- Monitor patient status, assess needs, administer medications and therapies, and perform required procedures per physician orders
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including physicians, therapists, case managers, and pharmacists to coordinate care and prevent complications
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans; reassess as patient conditions change; document thoroughly
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, discharge planning, and post-discharge care
- Supervise and delegate tasks to licensed practical nurses and patient care technicians; ensure safe delegation and supervision
- Maintain a safe, clean, and healing environment; uphold infection control and patient safety standards
Requirements
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; ADN acceptable
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care/Med Surg nursing experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced Short Term Acute Care Hospital setting
