Responsibilities
- Deliver direct, patient-centered nursing care for adult Med Surg patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
- Perform ongoing assessments, monitor telemetry as required, and recognize and respond to deteriorating patient conditions
- Administer medications and treatments per the plan of care and maintain accurate documentation in the Meditech Expanse system
- Support patient safety and comfort, assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers, and coordinate with physicians and ancillary staff
- Float coverage to other Med Surg units as needed to meet unit staffing requirements
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
- Massachusetts Temporary Nursing Service Agency License (Nursing Pool) must be uploaded with profile
- Minimum 2 years of current Medical Surgical nursing experience
- Telemetry experience required; Basic Dysrhythmia course completion strongly required
- BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association) must be current and in hand at profile upload; NIHSS certification required
- Meditech Expanse experience highly preferred
- Willingness to float to other Med Surg units; ability to work 12-hour day shifts
- Own reliable transportation; permanent address must be included in profile
- CCAT with at least two interview dates/times must be added to profile; scheduling requests must be made at submission
- Residence restrictions: Berkshire Health System will not consider travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility
Education
- RN education leading to licensure in Massachusetts; active MA RN license required
- Additional certifications (BLS, ACLS, NIHSS) must be current at profile upload
