Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR) travel assignment in a Critical Access Hospital setting. Location: California, United States. Start date: 08/03/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Shift: 5x8 evenings. Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing procedures, applying the nursing process and critical thinking.
- Collect relevant patient data, assess preparation for surgery, and contribute to a care plan; implement and monitor intraoperative care to support safe outcomes.
- Collaborate with surgical, anesthesia, circulator, and other team members; maintain sterile technique, safety, and infection control standards throughout procedures.
- Direct and supervise assigned nursing staff and perioperative team members; delegate duties appropriately and coordinate care with multidisciplinary partners.
- Provide patient and family education related to perioperative care, recovery expectations, and discharge planning; document care activities and outcomes.
Requirements
- Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (current and active)
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in OR or acute care settings
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Skills: Ability to work effectively in an OR/perioperative environment; strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork
- Other: On-call availability; ability to work in a hospital-based setting with variable schedules
