Responsibilities
- Perform CT imaging studies per protocol, including trauma CT, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images and accurate technique adjustments on the CT scanner.
- Position patients, ensure comfort and safety, maintain privacy, and apply immobilization as needed.
- Administer IV contrast per protocol and initiate IVs (PIVs) when required; monitor for adverse reactions and respond according to protocol.
- Review orders, verify patient identity, select appropriate imaging protocol, and document results in the electronic health record (EPIC); coordinate with radiologists and referring clinicians.
- Maintain radiation safety practices (ALARA), infection control, and equipment readiness; report equipment issues and participate in room turnover.
Requirements
- ARRT CT certification (verification required)
- Vermont state license (or ability to apply for VT license at time of offer) and obtain prior to start
- BLS certification
- EPIC EMR experience within the last 2 years
- Ability to independently perform trauma CT imaging and start IVs (PIVs); Philips CT scanner experience preferred
- Availability to work a schedule requiring every other weekend and 2 of 4 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Day)
