Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care for inpatient units including NICU, PICU, Adult ICU, and general pediatric/adult units
- Administer prescribed therapies (nebulized meds, airway clearance, ventilator management, and weaning) per physician orders
- Monitor patient response, adjust therapy as needed, and document interventions in the electronic health record (Epic)
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and participate in patient rounds and plan of care
- Perform respiratory procedures (ABG sampling, airway management, suctioning, NIV and invasive ventilation support) as appropriate
- Ensure patient safety and infection control standards, and provide education to patients and families as indicated
Requirements
- Active NBRC-verified Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT); CRT not accepted
- License on file at time of submission
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, NBRC Verification
- Minimum 1 year of professional experience in inpatient respiratory care
- Prior travel experience preferred; teaching hospital experience required
- Epic experience within the past 2 years required
- Education: graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program
- Ability to work in an inpatient care setting across NICU, PICU, Adult ICU, and general units
- Reliable transportation; note: local public transit is not available in the area
