Radiology Tech - Days M-F; Eves E3rd WE in a travel assignment located in State College, Pennsylvania. Start date: 03/09/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $1,669–$1,764 per week. Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, explain procedures, and respond to questions from patients
- Perform diagnostic radiologic procedures as ordered by physicians
- Verify patient identity using two identifiers; review requests for appropriate exam and diagnosis
- Position patients correctly, select appropriate technique, obtain proper views, and operate CR, Fluoro, and DR rooms safely
- Transfer images to PACS, manage image routing, and adjust exam priority (STAT/URGENT) as needed
- Assist radiologists and fluoroscopy staff during fluoroscopic and special procedure examinations; move portable radiographic equipment as required; maintain sterile technique when applicable; prepare and administer contrast media and monitor for adverse reactions
- Document patient history, imaging limitations, date/time of study, and technologist initials in PACS; maintain a clean, orderly work area; promote radiation safety and ALARA principles
- Provide patient and staff support, including basic clerical tasks, and assist with radiology student education as directed
Requirements
- ARRT registration in Radiology (active)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers, American Heart Association; renews every two years
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent; completion of a radiologic technology program approved by ARRT
- Experience: One year of radiologic procedures in a hospital, clinic, or physician office is preferred
- Knowledge and skills: familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy and physiology; radiologic equipment operation, safety hazards, patient movement and positioning
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions; ability to troubleshoot basic equipment problems; ability to transfer images to PACS and manage routine workflow
