Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for patients undergoing procedures according to established standards and the nursing process.
- Assess patient status, administer medications per protocol, monitor vital signs, and respond to changes in condition.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; provide guidance within the scope of practice.
- Coordinate care with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other disciplines; ensure accurate documentation and handoffs.
- Apply critical thinking and professional judgment to prioritize patient safety and quality of care; uphold infection prevention and safety standards.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient flow and discharge planning within the perioperative pathway.
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in California
- RN degree from an accredited program (ADN or BSN)
- OR nursing experience or recent perioperative experience preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced perioperative environment
- Willingness to participate in a 13-week travel assignment and to work the stated shift pattern
