Travel Registered Nurse L&D Job
Labor and Delivery Nurse (RN) – L&D in Templeton, California. Travel assignment starting 08/31/2026 for 18 weeks. Guaranteed 36 hours per week on a night shift (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) consisting of 3x12-hour shifts. Work in a 122-bed short-term acute care facility providing obstetric services, emergency care, and related perinatal care.

Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver nursing care to antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients, including emergency situations and circulating for C-sections.
- Lead a multidisciplinary care plan and delegate tasks to licensed/unlicensed staff within scope of practice.
- Competently assess fetal and maternal well-being, monitor amniotic fluid status, vaginal bleeding, and recognize and respond to perinatal abnormalities.
- Manage pain control during labor and support alternative methods when appropriate; assist with epidural catheter placement and monitoring.
- Educate patients and families across perinatal and postpartum periods using culturally appropriate teaching methods.
- Document all nursing care accurately and timely, evaluating patient responses to interventions.
Requirements
- Licenses/Certifications: Current RN license in California; Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required; AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring required; Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course required.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years recent Labor & Delivery experience; LDRP care model experience preferred; EPIC EMR experience required; ability to work in a high-acuity perinatal setting; no on-call expectations.
- Additional: Must meet facility-specific credentialing standards and AH policy requirements for BLS/ACLS/NRP.
