Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and monitor respiratory therapies per physician orders, including oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and airway clearance techniques
- Manage patients on invasive and noninvasive ventilation, and adjust settings in collaboration with the care team
- Perform routine pulmonary function testing, humidification therapy, suctioning, bronchodilator therapy, and chest physiotherapy as indicated
- Monitor patient response, document care activities, and communicate changes to the multidisciplinary team
- Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment, ensure infection control standards, and manage supply inventory
- Provide patient and family education on therapies, devices, and discharge needs; document all interventions promptly
