Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients in the assigned unit, including monitoring vitals, neuro checks, and overall condition.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; observe for adverse effects and respond to changes in patient status.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans and discharge planning.
- Document care and interventions accurately in the EPIC EMR; maintain clear, timely charting and ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain patient safety and perform infection control and fall-prevention protocols; participate in handoffs and unit rounds as needed.
- Educate patients and families about care plans, procedures, and post-discharge expectations to support readiness for transfer or discharge.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Georgia (Nursys verification preferred).
- Certification Card on file (as requested by the assignment).
- Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg nursing experience in a facility of similar size.
- EPIC EMR experience required for documentation and charting.
- No RTO on assignment; must be able to commit to the shift pattern and duration.
- Education specifics not provided; applicable RN degree required by licensure.
