Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for neonates in the NICU, including assessment, monitoring, and response to changes in respiratory and cardiovascular status
- Administer medications, IV therapy, enteral feeds, and support respiratory and circulatory management as ordered
- Maintain ventilator and monitoring equipment, support with resuscitation when needed, and participate in deliveries for neonatal resuscitation as requested
- Collaborate with neonatology, nursing leadership, respiratory therapy, pharmacists, and other team members to develop and implement care plans
- Document accurately in the electronic health record, ensure infection control practices, and participate in rounds and care coordination
- Support families with education and discharge planning; participate in neonatal transport or transfer activities if applicable
Requirements
- Active RN license in California
- Certifications: BLS, PALS, and NRP required
- Experience: 2 years NICU experience; Level 3 experience minimum
- Certifications/Preferences: RNC or CCRN preferred
- Additional preferences: Neonatal transport experience preferred; prior attendance at deliveries for neonatal resuscitation preferred
- Scheduling: Ability to work night shifts; rotating days as part of unit coverage
