Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the EP Lab during electrophysiology procedures, including rhythm monitoring, hemodynamic assessment, sedation support, and post-procedure monitoring.
- Prepare and maintain sterile field; assist with EP studies (ablation, device implants) under physician direction; manage instrumentation and equipment.
- Monitor vitals, interpret rhythm changes, respond to alarms, and manage emergencies per established protocols.
- Document care in the electronic medical record (EPIC) with accuracy, timeliness, and complete charting of procedures, medications, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with cardiology, anesthesia, and cath lab teams; coordinate patient flow from pre-procedure through recovery.
- May float to an outpatient facility and participate in on-call coverage as required; adhere to facility policies and shift expectations.
Requirements
- Active RN license in Vermont (or eligibility to obtain before start)
- BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of EP Lab or closely related monitored clinical experience
- EPIC EMR experience within the last 2 years
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program; EKG recognition and IV therapy proficiency
- Reliable transportation required; public transportation not available in the area; personal vehicle or rental strongly recommended; winter tires advised November–April
