Responsibilities
- Provide direct, bedside critical care to ICU patients, including hemodynamic monitoring and management of respiratory support
- Administer medications and therapies per physician orders; monitor patient response and side effects
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, document findings, and contribute to care planning in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based care
- Respond quickly to clinical changes and emergencies; participate in rapid assessment and escalation as needed
- Float to medical-surgical units as needed to support patient flow and unit staffing requirements
Requirements
- Active New York State Registered Nurse license
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years ICU experience
- Travel experience required; minimum 1 year with renewals preferred
- Ability to work nights and adapt to a 3x12 schedule
- Willingness to float to MS as needed for unit coverage
- Note: prior staff members who previously worked as travelers may be excluded per assignment policy
