Responsibilities
- Provide ICU-level nursing care to medically complex patients within the home hospice setting as assigned.
- Monitor patient status, administer prescribed therapies, and perform critical care procedures within scope and facility policy.
- Recognize changes in patient condition and respond per established protocols, escalating to the physician as needed.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary hospice team to develop and adjust care plans; communicate needs to family and staff.
- Document accurately in the electronic health record and ensure clear handoffs to oncoming staff.
- Maintain infection control, safety, and regulatory compliance in all patient interactions.
Requirements
- Valid RN license in California (state of practice).
- Minimum 3 years ICU nursing experience; at least 3 months of recent ICU specialty experience.
- Certifications: American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS) required.
- Education: BSN preferred; ADN acceptable.
- Ability to work the 3x12-hour day shift in a travel assignment and to operate in a home-based hospice care environment.
