This travel assignment supports inpatient Med/Surg Rehab care, combining medical-surgical nursing with intensive rehabilitation to assist patients recovering from surgery, serious illness, or injury.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for Med/Surg Rehab patients, delivering nursing treatments and monitoring progress
- Administer medications and therapies per care plans, reporting changes to the care team
- Coordinate care with rehabilitation therapists (physical, occupational, speech) to support functional recovery and independence
- Assume a leadership role as a backup Charge Nurse when needed; collaborate with ancillary staff to maintain standards of professional practice
- May float between Acute Rehab and Med Surg units as needed within scope of practice
- Educate patients and families on procedures, medications, and discharge planning; contribute to continuity of care and smooth transitions

Requirements
- Licensure: Vermont RN license or Compact license
- Certifications: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from American Heart Association
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg Rehab experience
- Leadership: Prior Charge Nurse experience required
- Travel background: Previous travel assignment of at least 3 months
- Education: BSN preferred
- Environment: Comfortable working in a fast-paced inpatient setting with Cerner EMR
- Additional: Must be willing to float to other units as needed; non-local candidates only; local travelers within 50 miles are not eligible
- Vehicle: Traveler must have their own vehicle due to limited public transport in the area
- Profile/Scheduling: RTO requests must be listed in the profile at submission; scheduling requests after submission may be rescinded
