Responsibilities
- Perform COTA duties to support residents’ functional goals, including ADL/IADL tasks, under the established plan of care.
- Implement therapeutic activities, modifications, and assistive technology to promote independence and safety.
- Document resident progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate updates to the supervising OT and care team.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to contribute to discharge planning and transitions of care.
- Instruct residents and families on home exercise programs, activity strategies, and safe activity participation.
- Monitor for safety, ensure infection control practices are followed, and respect resident dignity and rights during therapy sessions.
Requirements
- Active COTA license in good standing (state of Montana or as applicable).
- Ability to work in a travel assignment within a skilled nursing environment.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Comfort working with older adult populations and interdisciplinary teams.
- Capable of implementing and adapting therapy plans to meet resident needs in a SNF setting.
