Travel Social Worker Medical Social Worker Job
This travel - temporary assignment is for a Social Worker with a Medical Social Worker specialty, located in Cambridge, MA. Start date: July 13, 2026. Duration: 13 weeks with 40 guaranteed hours per week. Shift: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday (8x5). Work setting: ambulatory behavioral health services in a non-identifying care environment. Weekly pay ranges from $3,174 to $3,320. EPIC EMR experience is required for this role.

Responsibilities
- Conduct psychosocial assessments for adults (18+) and develop individualized care plans within a behavioral health setting.
- Facilitate discharge planning and coordinate post-acute services, services in the community, and referrals for substance use disorders and dual diagnoses.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure patient-centered care and appropriate resource linkage.
- Document all clinical activities and treatment plans in EPIC; ensure compliance with confidentiality and regulatory standards.
- Provide crisis and case management support, including linkage to community resources, and participate in periodic holidays as required.
Requirements
- MA Licensed Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of MA
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW)
- CANS certification required at time of submission; LICSW credentialing with CHA may take up to two months (start date dependent on this process)
- EPIC EMR experience required; AHA BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of social work experience; experience with substance use disorders and dual diagnoses preferred
- Must be able to work in an acute care–adjacent, ambulatory behavioral health setting
- Drivers license with address matching demographics; submission requires 2 recent Manager/Supervisor references
- RTO (reasonable time off) must be included at submission; flu vaccination may be required during flu season
- Local candidates within 50 miles may be eligible for a local rate (lower by $8)
