Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient status; monitor for changes and respond to clinical concerns.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; document care accurately.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams.
- Apply critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making in patient care.
- Educate patients and families, promote safety, and maintain a therapeutic, healing environment.
Requirements
- Active California RN license.
- Oncology nursing experience preferred; hospital/acute-care setting experience acceptable.
- Education: Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a high-acuity oncology unit.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to function independently as needed.
