Responsibilities
- Prepare, process, and preserve tissue specimens for histology analysis, including embedding and microtomy
- Perform staining, coverslipping, and routine quality control to support accurate histology results
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot histology equipment; document instrument issues and repairs as needed
- Accurately label, track, and document specimen processing in the laboratory information system
- Adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements; ensure specimen integrity and proper chain-of-custody
- Work independently in a high-volume environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in cytotechnology or equivalent (preferred); Master’s Degree (preferred)
- Certifications: Cytology experience preferred; American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Histology Technician certification preferred
- Experience: No minimum years of experience required; qualified applicants will be considered
- Availability: Ability to work evening/night shifts in a high-volume setting
