Responsibilities
- Prepare, process, and embed tissue specimens; perform microtomy to obtain appropriate tissue sections
- Stain slides (including routine H&E and special stains) and prepare coverslips as required
- Conduct quality control procedures and document results; maintain accurate laboratory records
- Operate and troubleshoot histology instrumentation; perform routine maintenance and calibration as directed
- Work independently in a high-volume environment; collaborate with pathologists and laboratory staff to support diagnostic workflows
- Adhere to safety, regulatory, and infection control requirements; ensure proper specimen labeling and chain-of-custody practices
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in cytotechnology or equivalent preferred; Master's Degree preferred
- Certifications: ASCP Histology Technician certification preferred
- Experience: Cytology experience preferred; no minimum years of experience required per Job Notes
