Responsibilities
- Prepare, process, embed, section, and stain tissue specimens for microscopic evaluation.
- Ensure accurate labeling, documentation, and chain-of-custody for specimens.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain histology equipment; perform routine quality control checks.
- Work independently within a high-volume laboratory environment during assigned shift.
- Collaborate with pathologists and laboratory team members to ensure timely reporting and quality assurance.
- Adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory guidelines; participate in standard QA/QC procedures.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in cytotechnology or equivalent preferred; Master's Degree preferred.
- Certification: ASCP Histology Technician certification preferred.
- Experience: Cytology experience preferred; no minimum years of experience required (will consider qualified applicants).
- Skills: Ability to work independently in a high-volume histology setting; comfortable with night shift (23:00–08:30) and Sun–Thu schedule.
