Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapy staff in implementing treatment plans, including therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and functional task training
- Provide direct patient care under supervision, including range-of-motion, strengthening, transfer training, and education on adaptive equipment
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with regulatory and facility requirements
- Monitor patient responses to therapy, adjust activities as directed, and communicate changes to the PT and multidisciplinary team
- Ensure patient safety during therapy sessions, proper body mechanics, infection control, and proper use of equipment and modalities
- Support care coordination and discharge planning as part of a collaborative rehabilitation team
